Charlemagne Journal

Charlemagne's treatment of foreigners was very generous and beyond fair. There were so many protected foreigners in the palace and in the kingdom that some would think that they were annoying and imposing on Charlemagne’s generosity. Although most people thought of the large number of foreigners as annoying and pests, Charlemagne did not. In fact, Charlemagne was hardly bothered by the foreigners at all. He thought he would be rewarded for enduring the imposition for the kingdom and palace and would be highly praised for his generosity
